Beware The Ides of March

I admit I'm about 2 months late with this warning, but, hell, I've been having a hard time lately finding the time to blog anyway, so, as they say (has anyone ever found out who "they" are)? "Better late than never."
Every March 15, Komaki, a small town in Japan, celebrates Hounen Matsuri. Matsuri is Japanese for "festival" and Hounen means "over-sized wooden penis."  (Well, I'm not entirely sure about this last part, but if it doesn't, it should).
The festival  celebrates fertility.   Why else would you need a giant wooden penis? You think I'm kidding??

And my personal favorite:

How did Hallmark miss this one???
