Tiffany Blue

I had a wonderful surprise when I got to work this morning. On my desk was the famous Tiffany blue bag. Inside was the famous Tiffany blue box. It seems that, because I'm celebrating my 5th anniversary with my company, they gave me a $250 gift card to Tiffany's. Now, I realize $250 isn't going to get me much (and as the LSH said, it's probably going to cost me more than $250 to get something I like), but it was a great surprise. It reminded me of something I haven't thought of for years.
Many, many moons ago, when my gfs and I were young, swinging singles, we went into Tiffany's to have a look around. I said I just HAD to have something from Tiffany's. I looked around for a saleswoman with a friendly face who hopefully wouldn't look down their nose at poor little me and asked her "What's the least expensive item you sell?" She said with a smile on her face "A silver whistle charm". It cost all of $28. So, I had to get it. Believe me, even that $28 was a splurge for me. She also told me that I sure wasn't the first person to ask that question. In fact, the silver whistle was a huge seller. The sad thing is I have no idea what happened to it. As I said, I hadn't thought of that whistle for years. It would be cool if they still sold it, but I doubt that they do (and, even if they did) I probably couldn't afford it!
When I was searching for a picture of the Tiffany bag online, I came upon this:



Would you believe that's a cake? The description is:"covered in tiffany blue fondant and has indented edges to add more realism to the cake. Inside the bag is white cake with raspberry chambord filling."

Makes me want to get married again just so I can order a cake! If anyone reading this orders a cake from them, make sure you tell them that you read about them here! (Maybe they'll give me a free cake!)

Tiffany Blue - Part II

Back in November, I posted about receiving a gift card for Tiffanys from the company I work for. Would you believe I finally used it? It turns out, it was for $125, not $250, as I posted. I wondered what the chances were to find something I liked that I wouldn't have to put out much of my own cash. Actually, it wasn't that hard. Sure, I saw plenty of other things I would have loved to have, I know I have champagne tastes; without knowing the prices, I gravitated to some of the more expensive items, like this bracelet and this ring, which, it turned out to be from the same designer, Jean Schlumberger. However, I came back down to earth and got this simple, little bracelet. But, whether it costs $125 or $20,000, it will still arrive in that little, blue box which, for me, is almost as good as the bracelet itself.

Google This

A few months ago, I posted about how amazed I was to find the diverse locations around the world that some of my readers are from. Now I've been checking out HOW some people find my blog, usually when they google something. Some of them make sense:

Tiffany Blue - This seems to be the most googled phrase that brings folks here, but I'm really not sure why. I googled it and went through at least 6 pages and didn't find any reference to this blog.

Here's To The Ladies Who Lunch - Very surprising how often this phrase is googled. It seems the majority of people who find me through this phrase are from Great Britain. Do "ladies"do lunch there more than here?

California Cows - This subject is a close second, the majority of searches for this are from California (surprise). But like the previous two, I couldn't find a link to my blog when I googled it.

I understand why the above searches link to my blog. But there were a few that not only make much sense, but also, make me ask "WTF were they really looking for?"

Svetlana Stalin Svetlana's Breath perfume buy - Google this and my post titled "Common

Scents" is referenced third. Ok, scents/perfume. I get the connection. But what was this

person looking for, a perfume that smells like Svetlana Stalin's breath?

movie pageant girl sunflowers falls in love with mortician - Google this and the first link that

appears is my post "Guilty Pleasure". I assume the person was looking for the Lifetime

movie "Elvis and Anabel", which this google, for all intents and purposes, is the movie's plot.

Except I don't know what the sunflowers reference is from.

george kurdahl his study - This one had me stumped. Google this and my "Common

Scents" post comes up third. According to Wikipedia, Mr. Kurdahi is the host of the Arab version

of Regis Philbin, hosting "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" on Arab TV.

Then I learned he had his own perfume called "GK." Does Regis know about this?

PS - I have no idea why the color of my font changed in the middle of this post and why it formatted

so weird. The Blogspot Boogie Man is on the loose again.
