Helloooo?

I started this blog back in October and, overall, I've been enjoying it. I told myself that, if it starts feeling like a job or an obligation, I'll let it go.
I can't really say what motivated me to start this. I really had no idea where to begin. But, with some help from a few online friends and fellow bloggers, I was able to get this up and running.
I told myself that I was doing this for me and if other people happen to find it and enjoy reading it, all the better. But, I admit, I'm getting a little frustrated. When I'm talking with friends and/or family, inevitably someone will mention my blog and/or a particular post, making some comment about it. Hey!! Did you ever notice that there's a place to write comments?? I don't care if the comments are good, bad or indifferent; even just a note to say hi, I stopped by to check out your blog.
Also, I love Feedjit, the service that tracks where people are from who stop by the blog and how they got here. I had to restart my Feedjit last week, for some unknown reason, so my list isn't as long as it was. But, it shows that, somehow, people from various points around the world, have found my blog. I would love to get a comment from those folks also. As I said, I don't care what the comment is (however, no profanity, please). You can disagree with me, tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, or just tell me you love me. Please, don't be shy. I know that shyness has never been an issue for any of my family and friends, so don't start now.

  1. Hi! I've been checking in on your blog every few days and I'm sorry I haven't commented each time. I live for comments too!
I'll be more diligent with comments, I swear!

  2. I share your frustation. I started my blog to interact with others from "wherever". I see on my site meter that people read, but barely anyone comments. Then I think maybe my blog is boring? I don't know what the secret ingredient is. I comment on other people's blogs. Maybe someday, it'll get going.

  4. I've thought about that, but I'd really like for people to want to reply to me for the content. I may end up doing that at some point in the future, but not yet.

  5. Jersey Girl - You wish is my command, one comment as ordered - and you didn't even have to rub a lamp to get it!!!

Yup, givaways are a good idea! I'm going to start giving away free downloads of my Easy Greeting Cards - maybe some freebies will instill some commenting madness, lol!

  6. Welcome, Newbie! :) Just kidding; I've only been blogging myself for a year and a half. Keep writing, and if you want to get more commenters, the best thing to do is to make the rounds yourself, as you did today :) It's nice to meet you!

  7. If you started your blog in October, I wouldn't get too frustrated about the lack of comments yet. It takes time for your blog to get established, and to get a cadre of regular readers who will comment more or less regularly. I started my blog back in March of 2007 (I think), and it took quite a while to start regularly getting comments. I average about 3 to 6 per day, now, and most of them are actually printable! You write well, and I do enjoy reading your blog...my problem is that I have such a long list of blogs I enjoy that I have to divide them into a schedule...otherwise, I'd spend all day just reading blogs!

That said, I'll try to comment more regularly. And I always appreciate the comments you leave at my place!

  8. Thanks, everyone, for the advice and support. And, Bilbo, I know what you mean about spending too much time reading blogs. I'm guilty of that myself.
